Jutland - Features 3
Storm Eagle Studios is proud to present the sequel to it's
2006 Wargame of The Year Distant Guns!
Improving in almost every area, JUTLAND delivers and exceeds expectations! Both innovative design and user feedback has driven
Storm Eagle Studios to attaining new plateaus of the wargame
experience!
Simulation
- Improved modeling of centralized fire control (gun targeting)
- Director fire control – including three distinctly different Nationality based systems used
during World War I. This is an advanced form of central fire control, with weapon mounts
generally firing in half salvos - Blast effects upon nearby lightly protected systems (including non-turreted guns and their
crews, lights, masts) - Illumination shells, explicitly placed multiple searchlights per ship, and nighttime lighting
effects on weapon targeting - Fragile AP – Some armor piercing shells have a tendency to break up on impact rather than penetrating armor to their nominal capability
- Explicit AP and HE ammunition by weapon
- Simulation of non-penetrating explosive effects upon armor and ship hull structures
- Less abstraction in mine attack and damage control handling during campaign games
- Poor ammo handling – chance of magazine explosion by flash effect due to poor ammunition
storage discipline - Improved damage control simulation
- Bombardment missions and open sea mining
- Additional weapon arcs
- Ports and bases with limited support capability – forces may enter bases and ports “too small”
for them, but small port will only be able to provide a fraction of the services per ship that a
larger port or base can provide - Unique bow wake modeling based on the size and shape of the nose on each ship
New Units
- Submarines – reconnaissance and independent attacks
- Zeppelins – reconnaissance missions
- Lightships – floating lighthouses, treated as neutral regardless of ownership
Miscellaneous Improvements
- Many more ships and much larger battles
- Improved use of available 3d sound emitters for more immerse sound
- Improved 3d object management, allowing more objects without impacting frame rates
- Improved micro-view map generation, particularly at high zoom levels
- Higher resolution campaign map
- Improvements to automatic updating feature
- Windows Vista compliance and optimization
Quality
Storm Eagle Studios delivers only the very best quality games. We strive to deliver the best possible combination of historical accuracy, a clean streamlined interface, and an environmental experience
richly rewarding to the gamer.
Our 3rd Generation 3D render engine featured in JUTLAND is forging the way for next generation of
leading edge wargaming. Some have managed to deliver hot looking historical games, with only surface historical accuracy. Others have served up extremely historically accurate games, but only average graphics. Our first installment went over very well!
The Storm Eagle is committed to delivering both!
