SES Game- FAQ

The following FAQ is applicable to all Storm Eagle Studios Games
purchased after Sept 30, 2008.

Here are our License & Purchase Agreements.

FAQ

Q. Can an SES Product be purchased in BOX FORMAT?
A. NO.
Currently all SES Prodcut is only available for DOWNLOAD PURCHASE ONLY via our server.

Q
. What are the PC requirements for an SES Product?
A. Intel Pentium 4 1700 mHz or AMD Equivalent - 1GB Ram - Nvidia Gforce 3D Card or ATI Equivalent
Our. Apple Intel systems have not been tested by Storm Eagle Studios. We do not guarantee compatibility.
Before purchasing for any system, it is recommended that you should download and install tech FULL GAME DEMO and test the compatibility with your system.

Q. I missed entering my email address for the demo activation the first time I ran the game.
A. Load the game and click evaluate. Once the game loads to the main game screen, click the "About" button in the upper right hand of the screen. Enter your email address in the appropriate slot. Close the dialog. The game will try to access the internet and request a new Demo activation code.

Q. I entered my email address into the DEMO Activation dialog and it never showed up in my email. Where is my DEMO Activation code?
A. Look in your "Suspect Email Folder" of your email program.

. Can I return an SES Productif I dont like it?
A. No. The TRIAL VERSIONS of our games allow you an unlimited amount of time to determine the likeability and compatibility with your PC. Once a license is purchased, you agree that our games and add-ons are now considered "OPENED SOFTWARE" and cannot be returned.

. Can an SES Procut License be installed on more than one PC?

A. No.
While you can install the SES Prodcut Full Game Demo on as many PCs as you would like, to access the complete SES Prodcut Standard or Pro install features, each PC must have a separate License.

Q. Can I move my SES Product License to another PC?
A. YES. You can move your License to another PC using the SES Server using the SHIFT F-12 key.

Q. What happens if my PC crashes?
A. I
n this event, you wait the remainder of an SES Product's License check period (currently 7 Days) and you can Re-Activate your License on any PC that has Internet access. This is accomplished totally without the need to contact Storm Eagle Studios.

Q. Does an SES Product require Internet access?
A.
An SES Product only requires Internet access for Installation, Updates, and once per License check period (currently 7 Days). If your License has not been validated during the License Check period, your game will cease to function until it is able to connect to Storm Eagle Studios server to re-validate the install.
By using this feature, Storm Eagle Studios enables the end user to move an SES Product License at will to any PC that can connect to the internet for validation, after the License Check Period has expired (Currently 7 Days). The 7 day period also allows for an end user to take an SES Product on vacation or a business trip.

Q. What happens to my License if I have not connected to the SES Game Servers after 7 days?
A
. The server automatically releases your License so it can be Activated on another PC or Auto Re-activated on the same machine upon its next connection to the SES server.

Q. What happens if I have not connected in 6 months?
A. Nothing! The next time you connect the server will reactivate you game and you can pickup where you left off!

Q. My SES Product will not load as is informing me that I must connect to the Storm Eagle Studios Game Server for validation.
A.
An SES Product requires Internet access for Installation, Updates, and License Validation once per License check period (currently 7 Days). If your License has not been validated during the License Check period, your game will cease to function until it is able to connect to Storm Eagle Studios server to re-validate the install.
By using this feature, Storm Eagle Studios enables the end user to move their SES Product License at will to any PC that can connect to the internet for validation, after the License Check Period has expired (Currently 7 Days). The 7 day period also allows for an end user to take an SES Product on vacation or a business trip.

Q. What
happens if Storm Eagle Studios goes out of Business?
A. In the unlikely event that Storm Eagle Studios goes out of business, most likely it’s the end of the world. In the event we do go belly up, we will most likely release a final code update to remove the copy protection from the game.  Also, if we did go out of business, why would we want to continue to require you to check your license?

Q. Will my game License work if I use HARD DISK CLONING SOFTWARE, used to make a copy of my hard drive?

A. NO,
it will not work. You must use the included SHIFT F-12 Feature to move the game to another hard drive.

Q. Can I use a Partition Manager to move an SES Product to another hard drive or another partition?

A
. No. If you move an SES Product Install, it will corrupt it. If this happens, you will have to wait the remainder of the 7 days License Check to re-validate it.

Q. Can I install the game on an external hard drive?
A. Technically yes,
but if you move the drive to another computer, the game will not work. It is bonded to the PC to which it is installed. For this reason, we recommend that you do not install it on ANY removable storage device.

Q. Does an SES Product use the same Naval Combat Render engine as Distant GUns 1.0 (updated to 1.073)
?

A. No. Jutland and DG 1.5 use our 3rd Generation Combat Render Engine and Distant GUns 1.0 uses our 2nd.

Q. Can the an SES Product Standard Edition play scenarios created with the Professional Edition Battle Editor?
A. No. You must have an SES Product Pro Edition License to play these.

Q. The SES Product installed, but it will not update or allow Trial Edition Activation.
A. In the unlikely event this should happen, one more of the following has occurred:

    1.  You have Vista and you need to give the game Admin Rights.
         Left Click the Game icon on the desktop ONCE.
         Right click the same icon and give the game "ADMIN RIGHT"
    2.  Something on your system is preventing the game from accessing the internet, i.e. Virus Software,          Firewall. etc. You must disable these or tell them that the game is allowed to bypass them.
         Refer to your Virus software for instructions on how to allow an application to bypass them.
    3.  You have a hacked version or the version you have is corrupted. These will not work.
         Re-install from a fresh download.
    4.  You have attempted to "Manually" Install the game or updates. These will not work, they cannot be          activated, and are a violation of the End User License Agreement.

Q. I entered my email address into the DEMO Activation dialog and it never showed up in my email. Where is my DEMO Activation code?

Look in your "Suspect Email Folder" of your email program.

Q
. I cant get the SES Product Trial DEMO to run on my Apple MAC- INTEL Mode.

A.
Storm Eagle Studios does not guarantee compatibility with ANY PC. It is up to the End User to make that determination. Apple Intel systems have not been tested by Storm Eagle Studios. We do not guarantee compatibility on them. Before purchasing for any system, it is recommended that you should download and install tech FULL GAME DEMO and test the compatibility with your system.

SES Product Install FAQ

Q. I installed the game and launched it. After I click evaluate, the game seems to lock up.
A. An SES Product must have access to the internet. Make sure that you have given the game ADMIN Rights. If you have a firewall or virus software you may need to adjust it to allow an SES Product to have ADMIN RIGHTS, or turn it off.

Q. I entered my email address into the DEMO Activation dialog and it never showed up in my email. Where is my DEMO Activation code?

Q. Can I move an SES Product License to another PC?
A. YES.
You can move your License to another PC using the SES Server.

Update FAQ

Q. Can I manually download and update an SES Product?
A. NO
. ,Do not try to manually update our games. It will not work. They must be installed automatically to function properly. If you feel you must do this, we consider it a major breach of your End User License Agreement. At that point, any and all Product Use Licenses purchased in connection with the game are null and void.

Q. I am receiving an invite to update but when I select Yes, my machine locks up. What do I do?
A. An SES Product must have access to the internet. Make sure that you have given the game ADMIN Rights. If you have a firewall or virus software you may need to adjust it to allow an SES Product to have ADMIN RIGHTS, or turn it off.

Q. I am receiving an invite to update but when I select Yes, I get an error code 13.
A.
An SES Product must have access to the internet. Make sure that you have given the game ADMIN Rights. If you have a firewall or virus software you may need to adjust it to allow an SES Product to have ADMIN RIGHTS, or turn it off. If you continue to get this error, something in your setup is preventing the game from accessing the internet.

Q. I am receiving an invite to update but when I select Yes, I get an error code 124
A
. 1. an SES Product must have access to the internet. Make sure that you have given the game ADMIN Rights. If you have a firewall or virus software you may need to adjust it to allow an SES Product to have ADMIN RIGHTS, or turn it off. If you continue to get this error, something in your setup is preventing the game from accessing the internet.
A.2. Windows may have reached its internal Temp files limit for the Zip file to be created on your system. Try to delete or clean out the Windows Temp files,, then try updating again.

Q. I have tried all the above solutions and I still cant update.
A. It is possible that your router is preventing the game from accessing port 21 to do the FTP update. You may nave an old Port forwarding con fig in the router or some other port forwarding issue. This may happen is you had to previously change tech router settings for another game. Refer to your router manual.

Jutland requires Internet access for Installation, Updates, and License Validation once per License check period (currently 7 Days). If your License has not been validated during the License Check period, your game will cease to function until it is able to connect to Storm Eagle Studios server to re-validate the install.
By using this feature, Storm Eagle Studios enables the end user to move their JUTLAND License at will to any PC that can connect to the internet for validation, after the License Check Period has expired (Currently 7 Days). The 7 day period also allows for an end user to take JUTLAND on vacation or a business trip.
